In 2004, Black Moth Super Rainbow released their second album, “Start A People.” Already shimmering with pop sensibility, yet still quite quirky in many places. A record, nonetheless, that one can confidently add to their collection.
For its 20th anniversary, there’s now an expansion. The Pittsburgh-based band offers eleven tracks from the sessions of that time. Two of them, including the wonderful “Sun Shines at Night,” we already know from the 2007 Graveface reissue.
Among the included live tracks, especially the over six-minute-long “Early 70s Gymnastics,” stands out. Overall, a quite meaningful addition and a small reminder of how great this band is.
