Traum from Germany made their way to California, where they released their debut 7-inch on the local label Hypnotic Bridge, joining the ranks of bands dedicated to preserving the spirit of 1960s psych.
Now they return to their homeland with a new self-titled 4-track EP. Released on Tonzonen, the songs once again evoke the sound of earlier eras in a very authentic way.
While Shoeshine indulges more in garage rock freakout territory, the other tracks lean into folk-infused psych pop. The result is only mildly trippy but all the more melodic, making it a recommendation not just for retro enthusiasts.
