Kreuzberg nights are long. The Dharma Chain, who once started in Australia and have now settled in Berlin, surely know this by now. Their debut album “Nowhere” (Anomic) draws from memories of their homeland and new experiences.
The album, however, has a distinctly Berlin vibe, reminiscent of mystical, never-ending nights. The soundtrack here is Neo Psych. The opener “Timelessness” still reflects the relaxed vibes of Australia, but with “2:56,” it dives into the strobe-lit chaos of a dark room.
“YHSK” is sultry and dancey, while “Riders” is cool and mysterious. This is psych rock that captivates, leading you into dark corners. What else might this night have in store?
