Just a few days ago, the Melvins announced a collaborative album with Napalm Death. Now, there’s more good news. On April 18, they’ll release Thunderball (Ipecac), their first standalone album in four years.
It was recorded with the band’s 1983 lineup, featuring Buzz Osborne and Mike Dillard, alongside Void Manes and Ni Maîtres, who contribute electronic elements. The first single, Victory of the Pyramids, showcases an expansive, epic sound that eventually erupts into the signature Melvins heaviness.
