Australian musicians Winter McQuinn (of Sunfruits) and Acacia Pip (of PINCH POINTS) have been collaborating for some time now. Over the years, they’ve crafted a collection of songs that have culminated in the release of Recently I’ve Been Missing The Colour Green. The six-track EP showcases a range of styles, yet all the songs share a unifying theme.
The EP reflects on daily struggles, isolation, and existential crises, while also finding joy in life’s meaningful moments. McQuinn and Pip use rock as their foundation, but each track is colored with its own unique brushstrokes.
The songs are predominantly heartfelt and captivating. For instance, “Crack The Plates” is so mesmerizing it demands repeat listens. “Summer Rain,” on the other hand, brings a lighter, buoyant tone. Overall, the EP is outstanding and comes highly recommended.
