In 2019, the Zig Zags suddenly found themselves without a drummer. What could have been the end turned out to be a stroke of luck. The Californian band managed to recruit Jeff Murray from The Shrine.
As a trio, they seem to be thriving once again, with a new album in the works. But before that, there are new recordings of old songs. The Zig Zags booked themselves into John Dwyer’s Discount Mirrors studio and let loose.
These songs will be released as “Strange Masters” (RidingEasy) on May 17th. As a preview, we get a fresh version of the all-time classic “Braindead Warrior.” It feels good.
