In a way, Useless Eaters—led by Seth Sutton—were part of the garage rock explosion of the late 2000s and early 2010s. The band originally started out in Memphis, releasing records on Goner and Castle Face. Later came the move to San Francisco, and in 2017, the project came to a temporary halt.
Sutton relocated to Berlin, where he explored new creative ground. A few years ago, he returned to California and soon reactivated Useless Eaters for live shows. Now there’s new studio material too: EGO SHELL/RUB (Goodbye Boozy) delivers stoic punk with a hint of cold detachment.
