For 26 years, Dead Meadow have been traveling through space and time. But last year, the band suffered a heavy loss—bassist Steve Kille passed away from cancer, leaving the band as a duo. Under this shadow, Voyager to Voyager (Heavy Psych Sounds) is a deeply melancholic album.
Kille was still present during the recording, though his health rapidly declined. He never got to hear the final mix. Their tenth album is dedicated to him, exploring themes of isolation and human connection. In the wake of his passing, these songs hit even harder.
The signature Dead Meadow sound remains—melodic, weightless psych rock that drifts effortlessly. Sometimes jam-heavy, often laid-back, always atmospheric. But there’s an undeniable weight pressing down.
The Unhounded Now finds its groove, while A Wave Away carries a more subdued tone. With this album, Dead Meadow turn the page and step into the post-Kille era.
